Some of the most popular family walks on the island are located nearby including King's Caves and Machrie Moor stone circles. We are ideally placed between the 2 whisky distilleries and the beautiful west coast provides the most spectacular sunsets over the Mull of Kintyre.

Slowly but surely we are trying to make small changes to how we operate to enable us to become more sustainable and limit our impact on the planet. Where possible we use eco-friendly and refillable cleaning products and local suppliers. Our hand wash comes from Arran Sense of Scotland and we buy in bulk and refill the bottles to limit the number of plastic bottles going to landfill. We also provide refillable glass milk bottles for use during your stay which can be refilled with local Arran Milk at one of the 3 milk vending machines on the island. We are continually looking at ways we can improve our eco footprint.

A well equipped, stylish, and very clean holiday cottage. Fiona and Matt were very welcoming and helpful during our visit. The location is ideal for visiting Arran, good for walking and cycling.

Great accommodation for couples and families. Good location - short drive (or 30 minute walk) to beach and golf And shops and bar/Restuarant at Blackwaterfoot... lovely countryside. Very helpful and accommodating hosts.

Great location, incredibly tidy and clean accommodation. The games room is a bonus for kids and adults alike

Had a wonderful week the accommodation was spacious, well equipped superb. Couldn’t have asked for anything else.  To all our joy saw red squirrels in the garden. Would highly recommend .

Hamilton Cottages is a family run business which opened in 2006.

Most of the buildings on the site were originally part of the Hamilton Arms Hotel which was built in the early 1800's and legend has it there was an illicit whisky still on the site! The building which now comprises our 3 cottages was originally the stable block for the hotel.

The hotel operated until the 1970's when it became an outdoor centre. In 2003 the outdoor centre closed and Jim and Kate bought the site with a vision of restoring the buildings and creating holiday accommodation. Most people they knew told them they were mad!

In 2019 Jim and Kate's daughter Fiona and her partner Matt moved to Arran with their young children and took over the business. Jim and Kate thought they were going to have more time on their hands but have now been promoted to Chief Babysitters!
