Hamilton Cottages are located in the peaceful Shiskine Valley, just a 5 minute drive from the small harbour town of Blackwaterfoot with its sandy beach, small shops and unique 12 hole golf course! Some of the most popular family walks on the island are located nearby including King's Caves and Machrie Moor stone circles.
There are two ferry routes to Arran. The main route is from Ardrossan Harbour to Brodick and takes 55 minutes or alternatively there is a smaller ferry from Claonaig to Lochranza at the north end of the island which takes 30 minutes. Ardrossan is easily accessed by car or there is a train station at the harbour with a direct line to Glasgow.
For more ferry information visit Calmac.co.uk. If you are bringing a vehicle we advise booking your ferry crossing as early as possible as the ferries do get very busy, particularly during school holiday periods.
